Information relating to the Recession
We
are trying to monitor the impact of the recession on the people of
Gloucestershire as comprehensively as possible.
In particular we want to look at the implications for service
provision by the public and third sectors in Gloucestershire.
Firstly,
we have pulled together a large number of indicators representing
most thematic partnership areas.
The inclusion of some of the indicators is speculative and
ultimately may not demonstrate a direct reaction to the recession.
Where
possible we have constructed a time series starting in June 2007
that allows us to monitor change from the early stages of the
recession. There are two
spreadsheets. One
reports measures that are available on a monthly basis the other
ones that are only available on a quarterly basis.
Both will be updated regularly.
Secondly,
we produce a monthly Unemployment Bulletin presenting a detailed
picture of unemployment in the County.
Finally,
a report entitled “The Economy of Gloucestershire 2008”
comprising an economic overview as well as the evidence base for the
Economic Strategy of the County is available. This is being updated
in 2009 to reflect the current economic situation.
